Food is My Love Language, but I'm a Terrible Cook

I’ve always believed that food is one of the most powerful ways to connect with the people we care about. There’s something about a home-cooked meal that says, “I love you,” in ways words can’t. For me, food has always been my love language. But here’s the twist: I’m not the greatest cook.
When I was younger, and cooking for a new boyfriend for the first time, my go-to dish was pork chops. I knew how to do them well, and let’s face it, if I wanted to impress, that was my one-hit wonder. My now-husband, on the other hand, when we first started dating, made me pasta sauce with capers (yes, capers!) for dinner. I’ll be honest—I didn’t even eat it that night. I was in one of those moods. (Lucky for me, he gave me another shot!) Little did I know, though, my husband would turn out to be amazing in the kitchen.
As for me? Well, I’ve definitely peaked with those pork chops.
Even though I’m not a chef by any means, I’ve always been the one focused on ensuring that meals are well-rounded, nutritious, and nourishing for the family. Sure, I might not be whipping up gourmet meals every night, but I make sure we get the nutrients we need. If you were to ask my husband, he’d agree—when it comes to balancing a meal, I’ve got that down pat. But let's just say you'd hope it was him doing the actual cooking!
Why Food Means So Much to Me
Food has always been more than just fuel for me. Especially now, as a mother of four, nourishing my family—both body and soul—has taken on a deeper meaning. There’s something special about gathering around the table, knowing that what’s on the plate doesn’t just fill their stomachs but also supports their health and well-being.
And that’s why I’ve dedicated my work to helping new mothers make sense of the often-overwhelming baby nutrition advice that’s out there. I get it—when you’re bombarded with information from all directions, it can be hard to know where to start. How do you make sure your little one is getting everything they need? What foods are best for growth, brain development, or even those picky eater phases?
Trust me, even with all my experience, it’s a lot to take in.
But You Don’t Have to Be a Great Cook to Nourish Your Family
One of the biggest lessons I’ve learned on my own journey is that you don’t have to be a culinary master to provide nourishing meals for your kids. You don’t need to spend hours in the kitchen or have fancy recipes. What you do need is knowledge—knowledge about which foods provide the essential nutrients, how to introduce them, and how to handle the challenges that come with feeding little ones.
This is where I come in.
Through Nourishing Moments, I help new mothers like you make sense of it all. My 1:1 coaching sessions are designed to give you the tools and confidence to create nutritious meals for your baby (without the stress of mastering complicated recipes).
